IN A PLACE
Hi have two 24" gator gars in a 375g tank. Dimensions are 60"l x 30"w x 48"t. I really don't think it is a large enough home for them. They have grown about 2" since I got them four months ago. Every now and then, their spines make a strange/unnatural "s" shaped curve (possible stunting?)

I have found someone who can house them in a 750g that is somewhere in the neighborhood of 8' x 4' x 3'. They have 4 gator gars of similar size to mine in the tank. They also are building a huge pond where the gars will reside permanently.

Should I give them away? How much longer can they stay in the 375? My wife wants to keep them but we don't have the space to create a 1000g enclosure. I really need to convice her that giving them to someone with a bigger tank is right thing to do. Your thoughts are welcome:)

In my opinion, they have already outgrown that tank as far as width is concerned. And they are still growing. It would be best to find them a larger home. If you want to keep them a low cost solution in the meantime would be some sort of aboveground pool set up for them. There are examples of this is the pond subforum.

I'm kind of curious where your located. Not many people crazy enough to own multiple gator gars. I mean this in a good way as I have 4 myself.

I have looked at the outdoor pond situation but my property isn't really big enough to make one of those. Also, the house is on a raised foundation which makes having monster tanks interesting. It's great that you have 4 gars. How big is your enclosure?

My biggest enclosure at the moment is a 10' x 4.5' x 2' indoor pond. As far as future upgrades I hae a couple ideas, at the minimum they will be going into a 1000 gallon circular pool, but I hope to find something bigger.

as difficult as it may be (for you and/or your wife), i think you would definitely be doing the right thing by re-homing them with your contact with the bigger tank. if they already have several gators, then they should find the new home quite suitable (not to mention aggression should be relatively controlled with that many).

one request would be to get some pics of all of them together and post them for us to check out!!! good luck--
