Ok, so I have a big ugly fish, and a 75 gal aquarium in which he is the ONLY fish in it... with good reason. he attacks and harasses pretty much anything I put in there to death. (with the exception of toothy, spiky types of fish that aren't afraid to fight back)

I'd really like to do something nicer with that tank (since it is in my living room), but the only way I could do so would be to get rid of my ugly fish. Hence my dilemma.
Would I be a bad person for getting rid of this fish just to get something different? The easiest solution would be to just get another tank to put him in, but the problem is that I don't have any more room at the moment for another tank, so the only way I could really get something else would be to either put a divider (wich would really cut the swimming space down) or get rid of my ugly fish. Who I really like, but he's well, ugly and boring cause he doesn't really do a whole lot.
What would you do?

The decision is completely in your hands. It is your pet, and you have to ask yourself how much or little you love it. If you are seriously considering re stocking your tank, then that is a fine choice. What wouldnt be a fine choice is releasing the fish into the wild, intentionally giving it to somebody who can't properly house/care for it, or euthanizing it. bring it into a LFS and see if they will trade it for a different species, or work out some kind of a deal with you. if not, then post it on craigslist and hope for the best.

If you can find a good home for him thats fine, give him away with a clear conscience :)

This is MFK after all, bet you can find someone here that has a huge tank and likes big fugly fish :D

Cheers

What kind of ugly fish is it?

I just got rid of 19 fish I didn't want anymore 15 minutes ago. Craig's list and Kijiji are great tools for that. Youd be surprised how many people are looking to pick up deals.
