So i am waiting on some 1.5-2" paretroplus menarambo "pinstripe damba" from the madagascan and will be putting them in this tank along with a few red shoulder severums and a mixture of geo red heads and altifrons and possibly two geo iporangensis. I know i will have to eventually upgrade them to a larger tank but this will be good for now. I still have a handful of umbee fry in the tank that i will be getting out and putting with the rest of their brother and sisters in a different tank. I just added the severums yesterday and theyre still a little shy right now but will post pics when all the fish are added and doing well. Enjoy.

nice, i sooo want gravel again... i have a slate bottom atm and it takes away the opportunity for cichlids dig which is a fun aspect you dont think you will miss until its gone. sure they will be wrecking the lovely job youve done in no time lol!-)

Looks really nice. Just need to add a black backdrop and hide the sponge/heater/intake which should really set it off imo

ya the sponge is only in there temporarily to help cycle the tank a little fast since its a cycled sponge and i added a new canister filter with half new media and half cycled media in it. the sponge will be taken out once i get my fish this week and will probably add a little more decoration over there. and i will be painting the back of this tank black as well. just havent gotten to it yet. i will be updating photos as the fish grow. anyone that has good advice on mixing altifrons with red heads should let me know. if its a problem i will be just going with the red heads for the geo side of the things along with the pinstripe dambas and red shoulder severums.

There was just a thread about aggression in geo because there weren't enough of them in the schools.... try and search for it
