If i fed my fish an all pellet diet , would it discharge less waste than a diet of say feeders or small mammals? Any ideas ,theories or knowledge on this?

I've always thought that since feeders were less nutritional, they would bypass on more waste. However, pellets are more compacted and are much more dense..

Tough call! Good Question!

I would say also depends on the kind of pellet! Those with high ash content, high phosphorus, etc, would leave more waste in the water...

I would think since animals have flesh, bone, fur, nails, claws and what not that alot of this ends up as waste that is not digestable, where as pellets or any premade fish food is much more digestable so therefore has less waste.Just a thought

pellets produce nasty poo too, i get the same ammount if not more from my pbass when they eat tuffies as hikari sinking pred.... messy with the water too

im gonan try and feed sparsely

here we go :)

AQUACULTURE PELLETS!!! high protein just for our monsters

and low nitrogen/phosphorus content, there by much less polluting than other comercial pellets

plus some stabilized vitamin C for the immune system

i would trust these pellets because, aquaculture folks try to reduce waste products as much as possible and the fish that eat this are meant more people to eat

it must be good
