I am thinking about the cost affectiveness of heating my new fishroom verses heating the water in my tanks.

I am looking to reduce electricity bills and thought heating the room would cut down on the overall internal heating need to done by my internal tank heaters.

If I heated my room to 27 degrees celsius what tank water temps could I expect?

if you do your best to match the same temp when you are filling the tanks, then they should remain pretty uniform. There would be no way for the tanks to drop below that temp unless colder water was added as part of the refill. How do you heat your house, and where do you live? I know for me, maintaining 80 degree room temps in the height of winter would be incredibly expenisive. If you live in a warmer climate though, it would be easier

I wanted to know if anyone does heat there room and what type of heat transfer do they get from air temp to water temp?

Most big wholesale operations do this man. It works, you just gotta keep it constant in the room. It's just not economically feasible to heat 1000 tanks in an enclosed room. You gotta watch for humidity though depending on where your tanks are located.

I missed this thread the first time around, but if anyone dredges it up in a search, the answer can be found by doing a Google search for Newtons Law of Cooling.
