I have a gar currently in my possession. I bought it when it was about 10cm long for about Rp 10,000, or about 75c.

It's been about a year now since then and it grew to more than 55cm. I'm pretty sure I need to accomodate the changes it had since it had grown.

How often should I feed it? How much bigger could it grow? Possibly, How long will it live for?

It would be great if you could help me with this.

Probably help if you can tell what kind of gar it is.

if you have a gator gar, they can and do reach 4-5 feet easily in aquariums when cared for and provided the space. You need a pond or a massive tank. You can easily double that size within another year, and they live a LONG time.

If kept properly can live More than 50 years. This is probably in the wild and large aquariums.

No. Try some floating carnisticks, massivore, silversides, tilapia etc. it should take it without too much trouble.

Not a fan of feeder fish.

should I keep feeding it live feed?
that would depend on whether or not you plan on being able to keep the fish long term. First and foremost you need to know what type of gar it is, and what size pond or tank you'll need in the future. As a general rule pellets or frozen fish/shrimp is always safer than live.

For now, it's living in a plastic tank since my aquarium can't support it.

Should I still use real plants, or will it just hinder its movement?

Just make sure gar has space to move freely don't over crowd with plants. You could use real or fake plants.
