(this thread is not to offend anyone)
but my whole family iis very religious
we are christians
and my mom would never let me have a snake because she says they have bad spirits and because of the whole adam and eve thing
i was wondering
is owning a snake a sin?
i want a ball python
and i no a ball python wouldnt be in a tree like what happened with adam and eve

lmao no its not a sin, its an animal not the devil. snakes are the best pets i have ever had. if it weren't for them in the wild there would be WAY to many rodents. ball pythons are great beginner snakes so go get onE!!!

owning snakes a sin............. NO!, people who think that are too superstitious and need to get out of their little circle of fear and start living.

first of all the snake had nothing to do with what happend to eve, it was the devil who diceved eve by use of talking as though he was the snake. People do this all the time, cartoons appear to be talking when in fact it is a person who adds the voice, same with puppets. Does this mean that the puppets and cartoons are evil? The trick can be used for evil but it doesn't make the animal evil. How can you blame an animal for something that it had no control over?

On thy belly, thou shalt go. LOL

and one more thing
not to offend u guys
but are any of you religious/ go to church
because if u dont go to church ofcourse your gona say its ok

I am a Christian and I say believe it's ok. They are an animal created by God not the devil. God is the only one capable of creating life. They are God's creatures too, also, they were on Noah's Ark.

It is not a Christian thing... it is the individual's interpretations of the passages. Hebrews, who follow the Old Testament, don't believe a serpent is a snake, yet some Christians do while following the New Testament. It depend on how the Bible is being read. Some people think the serpent is a form taken on by the Devil since it explicitly state that the serpent lost its legs as a SYMBOLISM of humiliation and defeat; while a snake is an animal created by God.

I used to go to church, then I found out how corrupted the clergy is.

I've heard of churches that encourage the handling (and even KISSING) of venomous snakes as proof of God's divine protection. I found this on the web...

Christian Snake Handlerchurches that practice snake handling in their services have existed in Georgia since the early twentieth century. Most such churches identify themselves as "Church of God with Signs Following." They are primarily Pentecostal congregations, which emphasize an individualistic faith, often characterized by such spiritual practices as evangelism, speaking in tongues, and faith healing. These congregations operate independently, use a variety of specific names, and have no national organization. Throughout their history, snake-handling groups have dotted the landscape of north and south Georgia. The two best known in the state are the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Kingston and Wades Chapel in Cartersville.
Snake handlers are essentially fundamentalist Christians who follow a literal interpretation of the Bible. Their key text is the King James Version of Mark 16:17-20, which indicates that Jesus' followers "shall take up serpents" and not suffer harm. They hold basic Pentecostal beliefs about gaining repentance, receiving the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues, but they also view snake handling as a literal sign of God's power to the believer and unbeliever. Since the churches are independent and each believer is responsible for his or her own interpretation of Scripture, wide variety in belief and practice exists among the adherents.

I didnt mean it in a bad way, I just meant a lot of people are really closed minded on things due to religion so they keep away from certain things in life because its so called "sinful". The more openminded you are to things the more you will experience and enjoy in your life.
