Hello everyone,
I am moving and I'm asking for any advice or helpful hints on rehousing my fish.

I have a 90 gallon with a eheim 2217 filter and a 6inch gold oscar.

Also 3 55 gallons, all with hang on the back Fluval 70 filters....
1 with a 4" red texas
1 with a 4" umbee
1 with a 3" dovii

Thanks in advance for your help.

By 'rehousing' you mean get rid of?

They should be easy as they are still small....any LFS should take them.

If you mean take them with you to your new house. That also should not be too difficult at their size.

How far are you moving?

Thank you Warborg for replying............I am taking them with me, I am moving about an hour from where I am now and I was thinking about setting up a couple of small tanks to keep them in until I set up their permanent tanks.

I was wondering about cycling aquariums or even if that should even be a concern.

I am going to get a 75 gallon for the red texas which will be his permanent home, I still have some time before I get bigger tanks for the dovii and the umbee. But the oscar's permanent home is the 90 gallon.

Thanks again for answering.....Its nice to have someone to bounce ideas back and forth with.

You might want to look into plastic totes/tubs as they should be cheaper then small glass tanks.

An hour shouldn't be to bad. If you can't get a battery air pump then I'd suggest scoping water out and pouring it back in so there's a little movement.

If the fish are separated now I'd also suggest NOT putting them together as you may have a few dead ones when you arrive at the new house.

Try to take some of the gravel from the existing tanks( do not wash). The good BB should survive and this and will cut out the cycling time.

WOW......I never thought about the totes, sounds like a good idea for cutting costs.

Thanks again for your help..........Take Care !
