not sure where to put this. im moving to a to a diffrent house from a single story to a two story this house is about 20years old my ? is can i put my 180g tank with graval and x5 filter in the second story . i work in newhome constuction and in these home i would not worry . just wondering if i will have a problem? does anybody have a tank this size in a seconstory houes about the same age with no problem?

I would be a little worried with a tank that size on a second floor....but if you did, you would want it on a load bearing wall for sure going perpendicular to the floor supports.

I'm no expert by far, so you probably know more than me :)

I have a large tank on my second floor in a home from the 40's. I had the same tank in a home from the 70's. It's all about where you put it. Whenever possible locate yourself as close to the "hard" supports and you should be fine.

do you have a basement? the 2nd story won't have much more support than the 1st unless youre on a slab

thanks for the info .i was looking today and i found a spot where the floorjoice runs under and under the are two walls that will also help . thanks agin. but anymore experience will be appreciate .. it on a slab also
