Man, I remember hearing about him. I wasn't into Armatus back then so I was completely clueless till after the fact he had passed on. If you can stand the stress of getting another one and trying to raise him do it bro! Fang looked awesome with the Leo's. Man, if I could my ultimate tank would be 2 Armatus, 2 Trachycorystes Cats, 1 Apurensis, 1 Gulper Cat, 2 Leo's, 1 Curupira, 1 Scherzeri, 1 True Albino CK and a group of Frontosa. Ahhhh, but tis a dream and only a dream most of those personalities would not mix well. The Armatus would eat the CK and the Wolf and him would tear each other fins constantly. The Apurensis and Gulper would try to eat everyone in the tank with the exception of the rays(maybe). The Frontosa would probably completely freak with all the quick movements and activity in the tank and stress themselves to death. Still I can dream and try one day when my moneys a little righter. 
Seeing as I do have back up tanks if they need to be seperated.

When i get a 1k+ gallon tank i will try an armatus again
All i could figure was he got stung in the eye. I woke up one morn and he had a little slash on his eye and one of my rays had a little skin missing off his stinger. Fangs eye turned white and he went down hill from there
