I don't know about you, but it's so easy for me to get so caught up in making sure everything is perfect that I forget to just sit down, blank out and enjoy the fish. To actively avoid thoughts of filtration improvements and so forth. To just let the undulations of their finnage calm the soul. Let's not forget. This is for anybody like me, who forgets. :)

lol i cant sit infront of my tank for hours on end.

Me neither. I'm talking like 10 or 20 minutes. Can anybody under 35 sit still that long unless they absolutely have to? :D

I can watch my fish for a few hours IF I have a computer or cellphone in my hands at the same time.

i can at night time ( and as soon as i move ill have more time ) but i keep thinking how i will be improving my fish instead of acutally wanting to sit there and enjoy them, cant wait to move then ill beable to do more upgrades!

Well said. I often just relax in front of the fish and just watch. I think if anyone is constantly spending more time on maintenance or improvements then they do just enjoying their tanks, then maybe it's time to rethink their way of fish keeping. Keep it simple and it will be enjoyable.

i agree. the past week and a half i was focused on cycling the tank. now i can sit back and relax.

good post, ive had several occasions where i got so focused on getting more stuff or changing things around that i forgot why i was in the hobby in the first place, to enjoy the fish. if you aren't careful and you get to absorbed in making things bigger and better you can get burnt out
