I am willing to place my 15 or more years of pride keeping herps on the line by telling you this. In hopes you all go check that one cage issue you might have that you keep putting off.
My corn snake jail cell has the cord going through a hole way up high in which I didnt think he could reach, its been plugged anyways with some rubber stuff supposedly temporarily. Well the a hole cat pulled it out, snake got out, cat room door stays closed at night and its also the room with the snake. Was afraid the 2 cats ate him, then saw a turd, terd, whatever, in the front room. So at least he escaped the cats. Searched for hours. Found him through the back of the stereo cab. About 5 gouges from the cats on him but nothing too serious. Cleaned him up and he ate in an instant.
So, be a good warden, even us veterans make mistakes. Good luck.
