I have a HRP and a calico con that currently have fry. The female now seems to have her tube dropped again. If they do spawn again will the current batch of fry be in trouble or will the parents continue to recognize and care for them? Thanks

How old is the first spawn? Usually the first spawn will be considered a threat to the new fry.

Not very old at all. Maybe approaching two months since being laid. I wasn't expecting them to spawn again so quickly. I know w a lot of fish they would be considered a threat but I had heard of cons having multiple batches of fry at once. I just wanted to try to confirm if that was the case or not. I can move them if it's a must but I would rather not.

My Rio Choluteca convicts breed every 6 weeks. If I leave the old fry in the tank, they are eaten as soon as the new fry are free swimming.
