Ok so ive had my 500g running for about a year. My main filter is a 100g sump, reeflo hammerhead gold pushing about 5000gph through a 5' spray bar. It does on moving water around but im thinking of cutting it off. Just leave the return dumping from top back left corner aimed ward the middle front bottom. What do u think? i just want a bit more flow, but its all glued so if i cut the spray bar off ut wont b going back on. Im thinking of cutting the elbow just above the water.

I would say cut the elbow to but if you let evaporation take hold and water level drops a little probably going to make a considerable amount of noise but I'm guessing your spray bar would have made noise as well. On one of my fx5s I rigged it so it's just dumping down seems to work out really well seems to me like a little bit more power. You will definitely see a increase in going from a spray bar

Nice. I'm not worried about evaporation(it's ridiculous anyways) or noise since my sump and plumbing are loud and it's in my basement. Going to grab a hacksaw and knock this off while doing a wc. New will see :)

if the 90 is below water cut the spray bar 1" from the 90. Be making the cut below water you can use a coupling to reattach the spray bar if desired without using glue.

i was wanting to do the opposite...i want to make a long spray bar along the back side of my 240 and have a pump plumbed into each side or y them into it not sure which yet....let us know which you liked better.

I like the added flow, I didn't make the cut at the angle I wanted, but there is enough water moving, seems to be cleaner
