Hi all, I have a 5x2x2 with a Giant Gourami, Senegal Bichir, Uarus, Clown loaches, and a BGK. The tank has always had a thin (say between 0.5cm - 1cm thick) layer of fine gravel, which I don't really like the appearance of. Would it be alright to remove all of the gravel? The tank is fairly mature (about 5 months running) and I'm running an FX5 and a 1500lph canister, will taking all the gravel out at once kill too much beneficial bacteria, or will the system be able to cope with it? What is the best method for removing gravel? Syphon?
