Removing Aqruarium top brace

I'm building a 100 gl sump and I'm planning to put the bioballs in the middle and I would like to remove the glass brace that's located in the middle will it be safe? To do that maximum water level will be near the middle when filled with water what are your thoughts? Thanks.

Which brace is it? The top brace like your title says or some other brace inside the sump?

It might be OK while the sump is running and only half full. But when the power goes out and the overflows fill the sump it might be a different story. Is this a 100G converted tank, a prefab sump?

Not so fast...a center Bio-Chamber has it's advantages.
You can remove the center brace and replace it with 2 braces on either side of the bio- chamber...
