Hello, I’m looking at purchasing a 450 gallon aquarium 8x2x4. Someone put in a lot of work putting in a background….I’m sure its made of concrete or something but I don’t know. Will you guys chime in and let me know If I’m able to remove it somehow? I stuck my hand in and tried to move it with my fingers and it’s on there good. I don’t really have any close up pictures of it but I haveI’m thinking of getting the tank but taking the background out if I can. He’s asking $1500 with tank, stand, sump and canopy. No lights. I want to make it a freshwater tank. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Those are probably siliconed on to the back glass so you're going to have lots of fun getting those off. I can't tell for certain but it looks like there's multiple sections probably a foot wide or so that overlap so you have to figure out which end to start with too.

Now that you say that, I see what your talking about with the sections. It’s easier to see it in one of the videos I took but I can’t post it. It looks to me that they made the background on the inside and then sealed it up afterward but I’m not sure. I think I’m going to pass on this one. I don’t want to get in a situation where I’m trying to brake concrete backgrounds off in the tank just to get it out and risk pieces breaking off and damaging the acrylic. The acrylic is super nice, 1” thick with no scratches but the tank width is pretty narrow with only 22 inches wide measuring the inside of the glass. I appreciate the reply!

Your hesitation regarding the width of the tank is actually the first reason I thought about that might cause me to pass on the deal. Tall and narrow (relatively) is difficult to work with due to the depth and really the least practical for fish capacity and maneuverability.

Looks like a Living Color latex insert which is siliconed in placed. GL
