Here is the question, I have a male and female GT in my tank.... I really only want a large male GT in the tank alone, but the male and female have started showing breeding behavior.. no eggs yet, but I would say getting pretty close...

If I was to remove the female, would this affect the male in anyway? Color, growth, personality... etc... I know all fish are different, but generally speaking would it be ok to remove the female at this point? I really have no desire to breed them...

thanks for the help

If you dont want to breed them rehomed the female, i know what its like when you have a image in your head of a tank. But before you do just be a 100% sure else you may regret it. Also if you do, re-arrange the tank, he'll prob act differently for a week or so, but will soon get on with it :-)

I decided to keep them a pair and see what happens.... i moved some other fish around to give them more room...

now what type of spawning site do they prefer? they are doing most of their "dancing" around a cave with a flat rock bottom, but it is open in the front and back so I am not sure if they like that or not.... thoughts??
