Removing Fish From Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've caught 1-1.5" convicts before...they swim in the opposite direction of your net, so everytime it swims by a cave or something, just put your net above it and it'll move backwards. I got it to the front of the tank and quickly moved the net upwards :D

Not sure how you would move bigger fish :D

My Loaches, Geos & Sevs always head straight for the closest hiding place. I've figured out over time that I can put a long ceramic pot in there and they'll swim right into it then I can just lift it out. I caught 7 Loaches at one time that way once :-)

I do my best to hand feed my fish so its never been an issue. Except one time when I was like 13 and I had a Giant Red belly pacu that had overgrown my 55 and eaten everything else in there. Catching him involved him literally splashing 10 gallons of the water out of the damn tank then he proceeded to try and break my net I was a little underarmed for the job.

i moved an almost 4 foot niger cat.It was not fun.My whole arm was black n blue for a week.Water was dripping from the ceiling, walls,tv,everywhere! He tore threw a huge cod net like it was nothing but could only get half his body threw the net.So one big strong friend lifted him out with the net while i wrapped a towel around his tail and lifted him out.It took 5 try's before it actually worked.I can't say the whole tank needed a make over after that.
