if you had a thin sandy subtance like gravel. what would be the easiest method of removing it? while the tank is filled with an occupant inside =)

anyone have any secrets or tips?

Well, if you didnt like my idea, you could just use an $800.00 Dyson vaccuum cleaner then or a sharp blow to the bottom of the tank, that should clear out the gravel in a jiffy. J/k.

LOL>..... i do it the same way tankbuster does;).... works great

hahaha honestly for some reason i couldnt post my second post right away and i had to wait. forgot and posted after your post was already up. hahaha and secondly i dont know what a 1 inch hose is. what is that??

either that or scoop it out? raise the water down a bit use the shovel of a hand bvrush n shovel, n scoop it out..

Go to a good lfs so you can be sure to get an aquarium grade hose, clear called Tetra Tubing. And yes there are grades of hose you do not want to use in an aquarium, so... get the 1 inch diameter hose. You can buy it by the foot and there ya go
