I have a 210 gallon acrylic tank with a blue background and I am tired of it and want to make it black.
My question is: Can I remove the paint with the tank filled?
I have no where to put my monsters while I remove and re-paint the tank.
Second question: How do I remove the paint?
It appears to have been put on with a brush and I have managed to remove a small amount with my finger nail.
Anything is helpful :D.
Thanks

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to. Only thing I can think of is that the moisture may "wick" through the glass and cause the paint not to dry properly.

It's actually acrylic, but ok. I just wanted to make sure. I have actually decided to just go with a vinyl background.

Acrylic?! You might wanna hold off with the razor till someone comes in here and says it's ok. It may scratch all to hell...........

Well...I haven't started yet. Any other ideas?

I peeled the paint off the back of mine after I applied it and let it dry for a couple days. I did paint it with my tank full and running with no problem. The paint I used was latex based so it kinda peeled off in big pieces... just took a time to get it off with the tank being close to the wall. I would recommend using a roller and latex paing when you get the paint removed. But definitely dont use a razor on acrylic. Good luck.
