Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice and input on how to repair acrylic scratches.

Here is want to know so far:

The type of remover you will want to use depends on whether the scratch is on the outside or the inside of the tank. There are some scratch kits available, like:

http://www.algaefree.com/acrylic_scr...agnet_kit.html

This produce is design to remove scratches inside the tank and while fish and water are in it also!

http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...1&N=2004&Nty=1

This is to remove inside tank scratches without fish and water.

There are products that are design just to protect the outside of the tank, while giving it a nice clean shine.

Has anyone use these produces?

Do I need a buffer to get some of the deep scratches out?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

I have used none of those products.
I have used Novus products successfully.
A power buffer will make the job much easier and quicker.
Are you fixing scratches on an empty tank or one that is currently in use ?

It's empty right now.

Can you use novus inside the tank?

Like it will not leave chemicals that are harmful to the fish?

Did use novus 2 or 3?

I used all three inside and out on my 240 and my 100.
Just clean the tank after you are done and you'll be fine.
Go easy at first with #3 and try it on scratches on the back till you get the hang of it.
It is a compound and will put a fine pattern of scratches you will have to remove with #2 and polish with #1.
Use differrent polishing rags for each step and keep it clean. The more effort you put in the better it will turn out.:)

i used novus on my 300 gallon inside and out, worked perfectly!!!! took the deepest scratches out with ease!!! wish i took better pics then my camera phone to show u
