Heya All:

I'm considering purchasing an large used acrylic tank 180+. However, there are a significant number of hairline scratches and a few deeper ones. Its not filled with water right now, so they show up even more. I have heard that you can buff these out with certain kits. Are these kits effective? If so, does it damage the integrity of the aquarium? It may be a fun project for me this summer.

But yeah, scrathes urg me - but it seems like a good deal.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

put baking power that's mixed with a solution of 1/2 amonia 1/2 bleach over the affected area for 6-8 hours, then wipe off. might need to slightly buff if it's a really deep scratch.

wow.. thats interesting. does that smooth things out by slightly dissolving the acrylic?

get a kit and buff it. Try to put the tank in your garage and fill it. if it burst make the give you a refund
Then buy a Volvo and drive the wrong way down the freeway at a high rate of speed head on into a Semi & if you die; sue them. :hitting: :shakehead

Genius :screwy:
