hi, was wondering if anyone has ideas for removing fine scratches on glass aquarium. i am selling my old corner tank, but i want to clean it up so that i can get max dollars :D. the only thing i have found online so far that would work is cerium oxide. does anyone have any other ideas please.

As far as I know, there's no real way to eliminate scratches from glass.

do you happen to know what commandant polisher is, i tried to google it, but i only got Polish commandants, lol. :ROFL:i also had heard somewhere that brass polisher may work, any thoughts on that one?

It's a scratch.. I don't see you getting rid of an indented mark.. The way I deal with it on my tank is to just realize it's there, and deal with it.

not just a scratch, but lots of little surface scratches, and i dont like the look of them. I want to sell the tank and have it looking as presentable as i can, i thought there would have been lots of people here who have done the same. Even if i cant get rid of scratches, i would like to at least have the glass looking sparkling. I've given it a good clean with water and a cloth, but i doesnt look clean enough. Is there anything for that then?

Try vinegar and water, mix at 1/10. That should help clean it up a bit.

does that really work or are you trying to make his tank smell all vinegary? :nilly:

i dont know if you want to try this, but someone showed me how to remove scratches on my old car's windshield using rubbing compound and a green scrub pad, then clean with windex. it worked fine on my car, but it might make your glass hazy so try it on a test piece somewhere else first.
