My XP3 keeps acting up. I'll start it and it will be good for about 2 and a half hours,
then the GPH goes right down to half ass. Any idea why this is happening or what I could do -
to get this bad boy flowing like it was a day old again?

I'm actually thinking of converting my big tank to a sump of some sort.
Maybe a 40 - 50 gallon!
My friend gave me the idea and it got me thinking since this filter is making me wanna punt it a my wall lol.
 
it's basically just stacked up with rings and sponges.
bag of carbon, kinda just wanna kick out the carbon
and do some more media though.
 
lol trust me, i've spec'd this filter in and out.
it's has to be a motor problem or something.
right now she's working like a beauty.
3 and half hours straight!
 
That happened to me not too long ago, somehow my powerjet nozzle was clogged. I just took it off and the xP3 is as strong as ever.
 
i have a xP3 and i love it.
i think what may have happened is in the tubes, they get alot of water calose, and i mean alot. thats what i think happened. kinda like the way a heart attack occours.

another good opinion. also, the thing that you clamp to do media cleaning and primeing, see if its still working properly.

i got it going again.
it's been going strong.
i added stacked one basket with rings and ever since it's been running good.
like a day straight lol.
