For those of you who use a rena canister filter what size(or series) do you
have an what size tank are you using it on? I have a 125 with a Xp3
an im having trouble trying to figure out what media to use right now
from bottom to top i have, a course sponge a fine sponge then a full tray
of ceramic rings then a pack of phos sorb an i micro filter pad, im not using the spray bar kuz i think it restricts the flows i get way better water movement without it, i have 4 sevs an 3 geo's all very small less than 2''

really need some info

I have 6 xp3s running and one for parts. I run 2 each on my 180g, 150g, and 120g.

They are all set up in the same way, bottom basket is half full with eheim ehfimech or fluvals prefilter media, then two coarse sponges. Middle basket has two fine sponges and the other half of the basket is fill with bio media. The top basket is all biomedia, I use a combination of biomax, bio glass, matrix and ehfisubstrat for my bio media.

Filters are cleaned every other month.

thanks, i just looked at the return hose the water is just barley coming out i don't know, do you think i have to much stuff in there

edit: I took out the 2 fine sponges an i just have 2 course sponges in the lowest basket then i have a basket full of ceramic rings then
the pack of phos sorb dont understand where all the flow is being lost.....

2nd edit: When i look where the intake tube hooks up to the plastic piece that is that sits on the edge of the tank there is a gap an the water looks to be just trickling in dont know why tho all the hoses are tight an the intake tube isnt clogged.....

nevermind i found the reason i found one of my small severums in the bottom of the intake tube im so mad....
