Sorry, I posted this in the wrong area earlier.

But here it is again. This time maybe someone might actually see and respond.

I know you can use these inline with a canister Filter. I also know you can use these integrated with all of the Rena Filters, but can this heater be used with any HOB filters? Can I set this up for instance on a Marineland Penguin 350? If anyone has tried this I would like to hear about your experience. Seems like a very good way to heat a tank quickly and efficiently.

I don't see why it wouldn't work although I only have used mine with my Rena XP3. It has worked well for me and none of my rays have been burned (the heaters casing does stay cool).

you can buy an attatchment that allows it to be attached to the outlet hose. its a rigid structure much like the eheim one

i agree, since the penguin plumbing is differently shaped you will need an attachment

you can probably rig it up some way. however, you dont have to use it as part of your filter, they are great stand alone heaters as well.

i have one on my 75 gallon (with a xp3) and its probably the best heater ive ever had (had jagers, stealths, etc etc). its sleek, unnoticeable, and works perfect, my tank has been between 80.1 and 80.8 since i put it in. you cant beat it.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's unoticable. This thing is BULKY. I originally bought it thinking it was an external inline heater for the xp3 but it mounts to the intake tubes. It very large in comparison to most glass heaters.

Could be a wonderful thing, too bad the don't offer it in a range a variuos colors.
