I saved one of these from being thrown out in the trash the other day.I don't have the box or any instructions but all parts seem to be present and it seems to be working fine on my feeder tank.Does anyone out there use this filter?What do you think of it?

Which version is it?, I currently have the xp2 (2 filter baskets) and it works really really well collecting all the little pieces even tiny tiny pieces. A couple days ago I cleaned the filter and the water was so dirty in there yet my tank water was clear lol. I really like these filters and I think they work very well.
That's the name of it,Smartfilter.It's not an xp,it is a hang on the back,power filter with three square media cartridges that sit side by side in a row inside the filter.
oh im sorry i didnt know they made HOB filters wow lol. i can still say from my experience with the company that i was satisfied but not all products are made equally.

The XP like is amazing as a canister filter, the Smartfilters... not so much.
The problem with the smartfilters is that they aren't versatile. The "cartridges" HAVE to be by Rena and if they clog, you run into a grip of problems. But if you got it for free, WHY NOT!
