I just bought a used xp3 from a member and it came w/ new tubing. however these tubes are really stiff and hard to work with. are there other types of tubing i can get? if so, where and what brand etc..?

This is my first time owning a canister filter so pardon the ignorance.

go to your LFS and get some tubes from them those are usually soft. you probably got some hoses from Home depot.

Stick them is hot water for a few minutes, then stretch them out lengthwise to cool down. Once they cool down they will be more managable to work with.
