I have been running this filter for like a week now, and it is new. However every few days, this orange stuff builds up on my glass and I don't know what it is and I wipe it off. I felt the suction of the rena xp3s intake and it is not very strong. Would like to know what is going on, if anyone knows, thanks.

Can you describe this orange stuff in more detail ? Like algae or ?

I guess, somewhat like algae, it just grows on the side of the tank and I wipe it off with like a paper towel or new dish towel and it is orange. I will try to take pictures of it later. i may pick up a pleco to see if he would take care of it for me.

What are you running for media?

Your not running any mechanical media?

What is that the pads, or the carbon bag, cause I have both of those.
Maybe some research on your part would help. IMO understanding the difference between biological, mechanical and chemical filtration is very beneficial when trying to maintain an aquarium.
