Has anybody had to repair leaking acrylic aquariums? If so how did the repairs hold up?Im debating on if its worth fixing my 100 gallon. It has a leak on the bottom seam and I'm wondering if fixing it will be safe long term.I plan on using weld on 4 and using 1/2 inch acrylic strips around the whole inside frame of the tank.

That should work out just fine as long as you can get a good bond. I repaired my 300g by placing 1/4" thick strips around the outside (kind of like a picture frame) and it's held up for 2 years now. Good luck.

after you've fixed it with weldon 4, put a generous amount of weldon 16 over it (think of it as silicone for acrylic) , if possible, make it pool onto the seam by tilting the tank. and let it dry as it takes longer to harden than weldon 4
