As some of you may have read my 130g broke three weeks ago.
The tank is 5.5' long, 2.7' high, 1.5' wide and the glass is 0.4" thick.
In metric 160cm x 80cm x 45cm, 10mm thick.
Initially one side unglued and the water poured out. But later on I found out that the three crossing "bridges" glued in the middle on top of the tank for increased stability unglued as well and so did the the corner diagonally from where the water poured out.
There was about 10cm or 0.3' of water left in the tank where the ray continues to live.
I understand that epmtying and regluing everything would have been the best. However, the ray was still in it with some 50lb of gravel. I have no idea how to take the ray out of the tank and I have no other place for the ray.
A guy from a 5' long, LFS came by an did the folllowing:
Without emptying the tank, he replaced the torn parts of silicon in the diagonally opposed corners above the waterlevel. He then cut 4 pieces of glass as long as the tank is high and about 2" wide and glued them with silicon on the ouside of the tank in the corners so that the seem is covered with glass. He also glued triangles inside the corners. It is not very well done. Mainly he wasn't very generous with the silicon.
I'll post a pic. What do you think? Can I fill it?
I don't feel so sure... Can I do anything else?

Was he able to get the glass edges together or are they bowed ? If the glass is stressed outward and you put water in it the pressure may crack the glass. Have you got room for a kiddie pool ? You could put your ray and gravel in it, it won't know the difference just cover it with tree netting so he doesn't get out (cheapest way to go). Then take the tank outside and test or re-do it with GE1200 silicone if posible (cut the whole side out and reset it). Sorry 'bout the mess but atleast youstill got your ray.
