there a fairly medium size hole on the bottom of my sump.

my question is. Do i have to use acrylic? or can i use glass/ plexiglass.

also where can i get Weld-on. i know silicone doesn't adhere well to plexiglass

Look it the phonebook under plastics. Any local plastic/acrylic supplier should have Weld-on available. Only costs about $5. Plus, if they are friendly, they will give you a piece of acrylic to patch the hole with. That's how I fixed my 55G that I cracked.
