Repairing Water Pump Power Cord

After storing MAG 9.5 and RIO 2500 pumps for about 6 months, I had intended using them again when I noticed the power cords dried and cracked, exposing the inner wires. Is there anyway to repair this? The cracked portion of the cord would be submerged in a wet/dry filter.

JOnly the outer jacket is torn. The internal wires are fine.
What's RTV?

RTV "sillicone". and use duelwalled shrinktube with glue. that is the shiznit.... it can be found at autoparts stores and electronic supply stores. not canadian tire and homedepot.

oh can you see wires???, if not then dont worry about it... but you can use "self vulcanizing" electrical tape to seal it.
