Hey guys so I noticed my 220's top center brace is cracking :WHOA:

I know the lfs can order one if they know who made the tank but I honestly have no clue who made the tank.. All stickers are gone and not a sign of who made it. Is there a possible way to figure out who made the tank by the dimensions and the thickness of the glass? The crack is about 1/8th of a inch but its still pretty scary thinking about a seam bursting. I would rather replace the trim than go euro bracing or a diy method if possible. The crack goes away when about 40% of the water is drained and comes back when filled so help me out!

The dimensions are 72x24x30 with half a inch thick glass (.5 inches or 12.7 cm) . Could anyone with a 220 that knows who made it measure their thickness and tell me who made it? Thanks a ton!

Contact "over the edge". Just google it. They can help you they make replacement trim for different glass thicknesses.

my 21 year old tank had a label under the silicone/over the trim on the bottom, but you couldn't read it until I removed the silicon.
you could always put in a glass cross brace. just remember that the brace butts between the sides, not on top.

Ah I did stumble upon this place and had emailed them a while ago for a previous tank. I sent them a email about the dimensions of a 220 and they replied with

Hi Daniel,
Unfortunately, we do not make a 72 x 24 frame

Regards,
Brandon

Seems that they only go 18 inches wide which is a serious bummer. At 40 dollars a custom frame its a great deal

A brace right down the middle does seem like the cheapest and most simplest way but I dont have any tanks to spare to hold the stock until it is cured.. Seems the old owner scratched the sticker off with a razor blade leaving some old residue under the tank.. bummer!

I have a Perfecto 220G tank, the glass is 1/2" thick and the actual length of the tank is 72-3/16" and the width is 24-1/8". The top trim has 2 braces.
