I have a couple of the crappy wal-mart Aqua-Tech filters on my tank. I set it up about a month ago and it's finally cycled. I really need to replace the cartridges, I tried spraying one off and it was so bad the blue pad actually ripped apart. I replaced one cartridge in each filter(each filter has two cartridges). How long should I wait to replace the others? I don't have any substrate so I don't want to take any chances

Change one of them like once a week on an alternate basis so that you do not kill off all the BB.
