I have a 4 foot strip light from AGA. Ive replaced the bulb and the starter with ones that I know for sure to work and all i get is a flicker and every once in a while a dim hold. Im guessing the ballast is bad. Anyone have any ideas on replacing them? I havent torn into it yet so im just looking to get an idea. I have a couple smaller lights I was thinking about swapping the ballasts out but Im not sure about wattage.

Clip the wires on the old ballist. Put the new ballist in and wirenut it. But I don't think it is the ballist if you are getting flickering. If the ballist is bad you would get no light at all.

You can go to home depot and get an electronic ballast for a few dollars. That would eliminate the starter.I did one a year or so ago and it still works. They usually have a display to help you pick the right one,or just read the boxes.

If you get electronic ballast, you'll have to rewire the lighting as this ballast does not need a starter. It will, however run cooler and waste less electricity. You would need to buy a short length of electrical wire to do it as well, I guess. Worth every cent.

dont forget to unplug it before you tart cutting wires
