Well, now that UVRG has gone public (We hosted our first public showing at the New England Reptile Expo) I have decided that I'll need to expand my "reptile room" for a bit more space. I've moved all the enclosures shelving and tanks that I had out to the garage, with plans for building more racks and getting quite a few more tanks.
Still to do: Get some stall mats for the tortoises so they don't get cold feet on the concrete floor, insulate underneath the main door, and install a secondary source of heat (likely will be an infrared "amish style" heater.)

Nice! Lots more space for more animals too.

Do you do much re-homing of animals, or are you just taking them in and keep them at the rescue for now?

The ultimate goal is to rehome them when they're healthy and ready to do so. I do have a few of my own personal animals that are permanent residents (my burms, the tortoises, and the tegu) but yeah, for the most part we try to rehome them.
Anything that is "special needs" I end up keeping (such as a very agressive iguana, a leopard gecko that has some digestive issues)
I also have a small handful of natives that I keep for educational purposes (yellow spot salamander, american toad, painted turtle)
Currently up for re-homing we have a couple of slider turtles.

That's cool. If I were closer I'd take the turtles for my outdoor pond. Nice to see someone taking such good care of animals, especially rescue animals!

Awesome job. Now you can open up a scaly petting zoo too.

What happened to the plant? I would replant it in some bark mix and keep and the roots moist, but not wet and a nice bright bulb or some good window light from a small distance.

it forgot to remind me to water it... so it's next to one of the turtle tanks now.

Nice, do you ship? I might be able to help you if you do as i might have sevral people that might be interested down here.
