{Prequel} Ok, so if you've kept up with my posts you may recall that my jar is REALLY picky... and fasting him is a pain in my rear because that means fasting my oscar or letting him gorge... So I've been fasting my aro in order to get him/her on hikari's freeze dried krill... I fasted it for a little over a week while tossing in a pre-soaked full piece one at a time only allowing my oscar to eat no more then three per serving twice a day. The first time I tried my jar smashed it and quickly spat it when s/he realized it wasn't a night crawler. From then on it would occasionally "mouth" it put always spit it out. finally after a week a week it took in about 3 but not so eagerly.
{Question} So while I was at petco getting my snake a feeder I stumbled across some powdered reptile vitamins. You know the kind you dip you insects in, I figured that if I couldn't get my Jar to feed regularly on these krill maybe feeding it worms and super worms in the vitamin powder maybe it would help. I have never seen any of these liquid fish vitamins that I have read about on threads... I also bought some frozen krill and she ate it right away, still not as ferociously as her worms or crickets but she had her fill. Then I tried feeding her some super worms with the reptile vitamin and she ate about three more (after she had spat 2 attempts of more krill).
So what do you think my regimen should be, and do you think that it is a good idea to feed these vitamins to my fish (the oscar got a vitamin covered SW too)

Here they are...

Directions: Reptivite on food: Dust lightly over vegetables, fruits or turtle paste. Reptivite's fine blend of ingredients adheres well to all food, including insects. Use in very small amounts. For Insectivores: Place insects in a plastic bag, add a small amount of Reptivite and shake gently until the insect is lightly coated. For new animals, use every feeding. For established animals, use every other feeding.

Seems to me that the vitamin powder is designed to stay dry and would just disapate once the food hits the water.

Well it does to a certain extent, but the fish definitely swallows a decent amount also... I could try taking a vid next time I suppose... The jar got three and the oscar ate one and the water didn't clowd, just a little bit where it hits the water and a small amount coming from the fishes mouth as it chews, but it quickly clears... I always feed one at a time to each the Oscar and the Jar until the jar doesn't except...

reptile vitamins... LoL... well it's something new... hope it works...

Well now that I finally have him/her excepting both frozen and freeze dried krill I haven't decided if I will use the vitamins or not. But if you read them all it is, is a full spectrum vitamin/mineral + amino acids... it would be safe for a human to take so I don't see how it could harm the fish. I just wanna know how much would be beneficial or not...

I've had my lfs dusting my crickets for a while now with no problems
