I was cleaning everyone out today, absolute everyone lol and I had my nile outside basking in the bird cage and I came to cleaning out the butterfly lizards viv and had no-where to put him as I cleaned his cage so I got my mum to hold him but what if I was to put him in my nile monitors viv for a short time as I cleaned his out? Would he get anything from his viv? Or his water? My nile sleeps in the waterside of his viv.

Butterfly lizards are on the very delicate side, I would be more conserned about your nile freaking out and stressing the other lizard or even giving him a nasty bite. Even for a moment its very risky. As for desiase, it really shouldnt be a issue, if both are well aclimated healty animals but even then keep them apart at all times.

The nile wasnt in his viv, he was outside in the bird cage. but thanks for the info, I feel confident that both are in healthy enough states

I know. But your not putting them together even for a moment are you  Get a pair of plastic shoe boxes or something.

Herps can pass diseases communicable diseases just like we can. I once lost 30 baby monitors from poor quarantine procedures. One sick animal did in the rest. It was heartbreaking.
