I am not sure what baby RES or YBS look like so can you please ID this for me?
Also any idea what is on his shell?

You pretty much nailed it, it seems to be a cumberland and yes it inst for shure a yellow belly slider. However the plastron of cs and res can be practicly equal in the hatchling state, depending on the individual turtle and cant be used as a shure sign to identify subspecies. Many ybs as well dont have plain yellow plastrons, many have spots.Creek_stomper;4572784; said:Could be a Cumberland Slider, T. s. troostii. YBS have a yellow 'S' shaped post-orbital marking that starts behind the eye and drops behind the mouth.
Red-ears have a red post-orbital marking that starts behind the eye and continues straight back instead of down. It's unusual but possible that RES have yellow or orangish ears, like the Cumberland slider.
Cumberlands have the same marking, but it is usually yellow, orange, or sort of brown. They also have vertical bars flanking the tail. The yellow lines on the body tend to be fewer in number and thicker.
The plastron does not seem right for either T. s. scripta or T. s. troostii. For this reason alone I'd say you have a T. s. elegans, the Red-Eared Slider, and it just has an anomalous post-orbital marking.
