RES - Questions

Hello,
Whats the growth rate expected for a young RES and is it okay to handle these guys often out of the tank?

RES aren't really into being handled.
More of a look dont touch pet.
They grow FAST and get huge, specially females.

When you say fast what sort of growth per month is normal? I've spent ost of my life with fish and fairly new to turtles.

That is a question Ive asked myself many times and there is simply not a average so to speak, turtles grow very fast in captivity, slower in the wild but the final size its basicly the same having in acount the turtle is well looked after. The most inportant is make shure you practice a normal water change regimen, a very varied diet including dark leafys, uv ligth and good temperatures and you have nothing to worry about Each turtle has its own growing ways, some do it very fast, others do not

Moving about out of the water is quite stressful for turtles, better to leave 'em in the tank.
