RES Turtles skin

HI everyone

I have a question can the turtle people please help me. I have to red eared sliders that have flaky skin. When they are in the tank (in the water) there seems to be some flaky substance on their skin.. Can someone tell me what this is. Your help is appreciated and if u need more info just let me know... thanks

shedding i believe. my RES will sometimes get this and its in the pattern of her scaly skin.

I agree. Just like snakes and lizards, turtles shed skin too.
