So tomorrow is my day off and I'm doing deep tank cleaning. For those who don't know, I have a 125 "sa community" with severums, geos, pike cichlids and Denison barbs, a 75 with a 9" green terror, and another 125 with A. Lyonsi growing out (between 3-6 inches). A few questions...

1) Thinking about rescaping the sa community. Any recommendations or ideas? Pic below shows what it is now. Rocks piled on one side, drift wood on the other and a 5.5' log across the tank propped up on the rocks at one end.

2) And the more relevant question for this section... I don't know how well the GT plays with others since I got him/her at this size and have kept it solo. Eventually may be moving it to go with something else (in a bigger tank) or rehoming it so I'd like to know. What do you think about, while doing deep cleanings, putting him with some of the bigger fish (6-7" severum and/or the 6" lyonsi) just to see how everyone plays? My concern isn't so much for the fish direct safety as I'll be keeping a close eye, but would the stress be too much?

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read! I look forward to y'all's responses!

Scaping looks great on the attached picture. I like the look of the light in the middle with the darker ends, but it does make it difficult to see the rocks on the left and the wood on the right in the picture (not saying change this, just tough for me to see to provide advice). If you want to mix it up and have enough wood/rocks, it might be cool to keep the log in the middle propped up still, place sections of wood on both ends, and then scatter the rocks/caves throughout the scape of the tank.

As for the GT, they seem to be one of the species that truly has a wide range of aggressiveness based on the individual. I have kept GT's for over 15 years and in my experiences they have never been that aggressive and have gotten along well with severums (in 120 gallon 5 foot tanks). I do not have any experience with geos. Like you mentioned you won't know how he plays with others until you attempt it. I would go with the community setup first. His size will likely deter too much aggression from the established stock and there hopefully is enough going on that he peacefully adjusts to his new tank. Lights off for adjustment and like you said you'll be keeping a watchful eye. Although the lyonsi are smaller right now and typically a less aggressive Amph species, the pairing up could pose an issue for the lone GT in the near future. Just my two cents. Good luck and please post updated FTS if you mix it up and let us know how the GT move goes.
