Most people on this website keep fish.. and I'm finding most of them to be aquarium kept fish, and not many pond fish (koi/goldfish)... Most people on here tank about their pbass, rays, aros, Catfish..
I keep many tanked fish.. rays, frontosa, dats etc.. turtles as well.
But, I also keep koi. They are what started it, and they are what's going to end it should the day come.
I'm currently in the process of building an outdoor pond that's going to be 6,000 gallons, and about 6,500 with the filtration included. This will house only koi, and a few goldfish. Eventually it will house 4 shovelnose sturgeons I am growing out, and possibly some Chinese Hi Fin Sharks as well. There will not be any catfish additions, or pleco additions. I may add mahseers providing I can find the colder climate species.
I have a 1500 gallon indoor koi tank right now which is housing my 100+ koi, and a 600 gallon QT tank outside that is housing my new arrivals.
I love all of my fish, but Koi is where my passion is, and I don't think that will ever change. They are also the ONLY fish that I will purchase with slight illness or sores because I know these fish like the back of my hand.
So, on that note, here is a short preview of my new pick ups. They have sores, and septicemia for being cramped in a small temp tank that my buddy had them in from his dad's pond. They are all in better water, and will start treatment within 48 hours after they have settled in. They are in the 600 QT tank.
