I wanted to start a thread that deals with one of my passions. The rescue of fish that just scream HELP when they catch my eye.
Take tonight for example, I was getting some feeders to take and for a project I am working on. So I spent some time just bopping around looking at the selection of flitter fish for another project I am working on, when I saw a sad little fish in a tank all by himself not labeled and most certainly worse for the wear.
So I asked the fish guy about it and he says meh, I have no idea how about $5 so I countered with $2 and there you have it my latest project bagged an tagged. Neither of us have any idea what it is but here are the pics. I have in my 60g tank at home with all of the tetras and stuff I rescued from the petcetera that seems to be going out of business.
fins shredded freaked out stressed out, but has a nice blue hue to it. will have to see what it is not a convict not a dempsy don't know. will update on his progress as he grows
at the same store, when I went by thier open top display tank filled with red terrors I saw 3 jack dempsies cowering in absolute terror doing their best to hide. I have 2 green terrors I have been wanting to rehome since they have now grown to sub adult hood so I offered them a trade for them and they went for it.
well my pacu ate the one dempsy who was the most messed up and I have the other 2 in my 300g, it was actually the spangling on the dempsies that caught my eye. I took a pic of one of them
the under bite dempsy that did not make it, I find it funny how fish will absolutely go after a weaker one well at least he got to swim in a 300g for a day. He did not look so good when I traded for him so it was a crap shoot, at least the other 2 are doing well.
