Well I have been deciding what to do with my new 125.:D:D:D:D

I have thought of many things including, aro grow out, bichirs, BGK's, Cichlids, to even Bullfrogs(I used to be crazy about frogs). Well I'm not sure what I want to do. :nilly:

I was thinking though of helping out the less fortunate fishes in the world, well maybe not all of them, lol but a few. So I'm really thinking of making this tank a rescue tank for the people who can't keep the fish that they have. THe begginners getting an Oscar for a 10 gallon and a few months later the wonder why their fish are dying, this kinda dealio. Or the craigslist posts giving away free fish because they got too big, etc.

The filtration would have to be pretty good considering it might have quite a few fish in it. I'm getting either a 55 or a 75 gallon tank for a sump, preferable a 75 but whichever deal doesn't fold up. Parents are getting me a FX5 for Birthday in May also. I know the tank isn't huge, but would be better than a 14 in. Oscar in a 55. I will upgrade of course as fish get bigger, no prob. there.

Does this sound like a MFK idea:), or should I scrap this and just get a cichlids?

No way man. Sell me the 75g and go with a 55g for a sump! I'm loving the idea though. I do think the fx5 and 55g sump will be just as good as the fx5 and 75g sump.

Nice, like the flagstaff, I think that's what their called. IDk if mine is 2 feet high, IDK I measured it once, but I know it's a 125, lol.

LOL. Considering a 55 is close to half of the bigger tank and a 75 is close to a 3/4 of the bigger tank, either should and will do just fine. Plus an FX5 would just make life perfect, lol. If I get the 75, I will just put the oscars in there, their outgrowing their 55. THen have a 55 gal. sump. :):) And the 75 is only 40 bucks, needs resealing but for 40 bucks who cares.

rescue tank sounds like a sick idea!

I like the idea, and since I don't know what I want, who knows now it could be anything.:)

Even if I kept the fish for ahwile at least maybe I could give them a chance and get them into new homes with bigger tanks and better conditions than their previous owners.

$40 for a 75g is a steal! If you're looking for a similar deal, a LFS in Louisville has a 110g for $50. Catch is that one of the side panels is broken, but the price on that should be about $50. Looking for a 110g for $100? I can give you the address. :)

Thanks, but nah Im good. One rescue tank at a time.:) Thanks though, plus parents were pretty atonished when I said I would be home with a new tank and saw that it was 6 feet long and this big, lol.

Were almost finished with the stand, I'm off Tuesday so should get alot of it done then, then onto the sump.
