I had to take this catfish home with meScreenshot_20170524-222230.pngI had to rescue this catfish he is about 10 inches long and was being kept in a 100 litre tank,, I couldn't leave him there,, he has swollen belly, it is swollen evenly on both sides,, I hope it is just from eating to much, but am concerned it might be something else, he is in a 2000 litre tank now,, any advice on giving this poor fish a fighting chance,, is very welcome, thanks

Looks like a Clarias batrachus or walking catfish with a peibold pattern.Perhaps it ate a few tankmates, hopefully it is nothing more than that.Don't feed it and give it a few days to see if the bulge goes away.

Yer he is a Clarisa batrachus catfish,, his stomach been like that for 5 days now,, starting to think it's not from eating all his tank mates in his previous owners tank,

Been feeding peas last couple of days to see if that would help,, but hasnt

Now getting worried about the other fish in his tank getting infected if it is something else wrong with him,, should hav quarantined him I know but my medi tank has pirhana in it so it wasn't possible,, I hope this won't turn out to be a costly mistake to his tank mates, even after keeping fish for ages and having 9 tanks in my fishroom, we still all make mistakes, this latest rescue is starting to look like another mistake trying to save him, I won't give up tho, lol

If it is swollen from over eating how long should it take to go down,, I thought 3 days,, any help

If it was swim bladder problem one side of swollen belly would be bigger ,, that's from past experiences,, if Iam wrong tell me,,

Yer I know I looked into that, if it is that or if he is constipated from food,, what's best way to get him to pass it,, thanks
