So Cal
Well my parents had one of my tanks and they stocked it with some standard little neons, angels and a Chocolate Pleco. Ok, i figured I liked the pleco and could pawn the others off on a neighbor or something, done.

Now looking at this pleco he's Skinny, starved (Prepping him some food atm) He's breathing REALLY rapidly and his tail has become red (Not the fin, the actual Tail where the muscle is) You can see what looks like blood forming around the scales.

Tank was moved the other day, they wanted to give it back.

Any idea wtf I can do ? Sorry, i cant post pix : /

That sucks, ty giving him plenty of Cumcomber, but somtimes royal plecos go through the same thing when they are shipped. And can be hard to get feeding again. Some potatoe may be good.

So, just to verify that IS blood ? Not just some odd coloring ? Doesn't seem like coloring : /

ATM im going to blanch him some celery and broccoli's stems

haha, i was asking you to verify if it was blood and not some sort of coloring, and you did indirectly ;p

But, i gave him a bit of celery and broccoli stalk blanched. Cooled it and put it in... maybe he'll go over to it.

I'm going to leave the lights off as well.

He's nearly 4.5" atm, tank was recently moved, i saved 5% of the old water, so it was like doing a 95% WC, kept him in a 2.5g i had ready that was at his old tanks temperature (heated and filtered) and slowly replaced the water in the 2.5g with water from the 40 breeder that he's in now by one cup full every half hour, basically I acclimated him like I would an expensive coral (Extremely carefully and slowly).

You sure it is blood, or just reddened... which would likely be ammonia burn. See how it pans out in the next few days with nice clean water...

well, it looked like blood right under the scales, which doesn't sound good anyway you slice it, but Ammonia burn is probably what im seeing, would make sense.

Ammonia hasn't been a problem with this water before, the water this afternoon just went from crystal clear to cloudy as well : /
