So I picked up several free fish today. I’m going to call them rescues bc none of them were kept in proper groups and I’m going to either find them the proper groups either for my tanks or rehome them to proper tanks with proper numbers. They were well taken care of and the previous owner is changing stock. Though none are full grown.

fish that I received

3 male guppies
2 harlequin rasabora
1 cherry barb
1 albino cory
1 glow skirt tetra

do you think the Cory will join my sterbia Cory group?

I’m keeping the male guppies and the cherry barb. I’m going to get more cherries, how many should I get?

will the glow skirt tetra school with bleeding hearts? Or do I rehome it?

how many harlequins are needed in a group?

corys will do just fine, no matter the type they never really show agression towards each other.
Agreed on the corys. I had 5 Cory's, 1 sterbia, 1 green, 1 bronze, 1 albino of some kind, and 1 peppered and they all grouped together just fine. Atleast untill my African Cichlids decided to kill all 5 in one night. And when it comes to the cherries and harlequins I would do a group of 6 or more each. And the glow tetra, it's kinda 50/50 on whether it would school with other tetras or not just really depends on him. I'd say it's worth a try tho. I got a glow tetra as a rescue too and he does just fine without any other tetras. I have him in my 55 planted community tank with a couple handfuls of endler/guppy crosses, 3 muppies and kirbensis, 2 Siamese algea eaters, a flying fox and whiptail cat, ghostshrimp, a betta, and 3 khuli loaches (2black,1banded).

ind of doesn’t seem to matter at this point.

two rams died, one Cory, two guppies, the glofish....there’s an outbreak of something in my tank and it’s killing everything....

I ended up getting two female cherries for the male. Though I’m not sure who or if they will survive

Well that sucks, hope everything turns out alright in the end. Still better for them to die in a nice big peaceful tank rather then being crammed into of of those small pet store tanks to live out the rest of their days.
